Growing Your Business Doesn’t Have To Mean Getting Busier
When you’re in business, most people think that getting bigger – taking on more clients, more staff, more everything – means you have to get busier than you already are. And the fact of the matter is, many business owners get to this point and think they have only one decision to make. Do we grow and get busier still, or to stay where we are? Even worse, do we downsizing and relieve the pressure?
The problem with this thinking, if this is you, is you’re just tripping at another one of the many hurdles that business will throw at you – and you’re falling millimetres short of the freedom that business can actually provide.
If you cross this bridge, the other side is lined with the freedom that business can provide, and you don’t have to do all the grind work yourself. Sounds counterintuitive? I bet it does, because in your current level of thinking you can’t see the wood for the trees.
The honest truth is what it took you to go from zero to where you are today is one skill-set, one mindset. Generally this thinking is all about the hustle. Make more calls. Speak to more clients. Take more action.
But that is the wrong thinking and it won’t take you to the next level. The next level. when done correctly, can actually be working a whole lot less and earning a whole lot more. Guaranteed – if you persevere and make this happen.
Want the solution to turn your busyness into a real business that doesn’t require your input on every move?
Here are our top 4 things to do if you want to grow your business massively.
1. Chart the Course
First you need to take a step back and plan from where you are. Take stock of the current situation and figure out the exact direction you want to go. We find that most business owners that come to us in this place have been spending so much time hustling, they forgot to look up and see where they’re at. Stop. Take a breath. Find out where you are. Then find out where you want to go. When you can create a strategic plan from where you are right now too where you want to be, this will allow you to put the foundations in place to scale your business – without getting busier than you already are.
2. Get Systems In Place
Every business owner we speak to in this position that want to grow their business, but feel stuck because they can’t fathom how they could get any busier, have little to no systems within the business. Putting systems and processes in your business is the way to ultimate business success. Systems and processes can either be automated by computers or they can be run by members of staff. If you don’t have systems and processes in your business, don’t expect to grow without becoming painfully busier than you already are.
3. Let Go
Entrepreneurs are in business because they believe they can do it better than anybody else, right? But if you can’t step back and let go, your business will never grow beyond what it is today without the whole of personal exertion, and stress to go with it. You must let go in your business and let people and systems run your business so you can direct the business from the top. Keep in mind that high school kids run McDonalds stores. If they can follow systems, so can your team.
4. Get Some Guidance
When you’re making the transition from busyness into business, you will more often than not need advice in doing so. Albert Einstein said, “You can’t solve a problem with the same level of thinking that created the problem in the first place.” So don’t expect to have all the answers right now for yourself. Be open to guidance and leadership from mentors who can teach you how to do this for yourself – in a much quicker and simpler way then you would do on your own. Remember step 3 here…
In summary, the way to scaling your business whilst working less, is to follow the steps in this article. The way to stressing yourself out and working more or reducing your business goals and dreams is to NOT follow the steps in this article.
Of course it’s not the whole piece of the puzzle but if you did follow the steps we guarantee that you can scale your business three, five or even ten times what it is today – whilst working less and earning more. How can we guarantee it? Because we’ve done it and helped our clients do it too – so it is possible.
The real question is do you have the courage to make this change, let go in your business and get some guidance from people who have done it for themselves? After all, is it better to be a control freak and have little to nothing to show for it or to step back and direct the ship, whilst earning the rewards?
