Break Through The Plateau In Your Business

Have you ever seen a business grow rapidly in the first few months or years, and then seem to stall? Perhaps you’ve been on the receiving end of this in your business?

It’s an all too common affair that happens to business owners right across the world, but I can tell you, it’s not for the reasons you think.

We see business owners start their empire and go from zero to $100k in the first few months, and then the leads seem to magically disappear.

The ‘reasons’ that come flying out of the business owners mouth, go a little something like this; we tapped out our local area market, there used to be more demand in the global market.

But these are all just excuses. When I ask them how is it that the brand new business down the road can come into the same market and do five times the business in the first year alone, they don’t have much to say.

Now there is something to say for the business that is in a very crowded market, perhaps a small town without much demand, but for the majority of businesses, this isn’t an issue.

The issue at hand is the mindset of the business owner.

Let me explain.

I was recently running a workshop and an attendee in the room said that he’d gone from $0 to $100k in 3 months, and for the following 3 years, hadn’t added a cent. What is happening here?

As humans, we all have these mental benchmarks of what’s possible, these glass ceilings. People start out their businesses to ‘replace their income’, so that’s what happens. They get to their replacement amount and struggle to get beyond that. They don’t ‘believe’ that they can do more, so they find a way to get in their own way.

Now if you’re happy where you are, this isn’t an issue, but you wouldn’t be reading about business if you were 100% happy.

The challenge lies when people want more; they want to do more, be more and have more. But most people don’t get to ‘more’ because of these glass ceilings. The unconscious thermostats that cool things down when things are going great. The unconscious belief systems that are getting in the way of you having what you want.

These things are beliefs such as; I’m not good enough, I don’t deserve it, I can’t do it, I’m too young, too old, too short, too tall, too fat, too skinny.

All of these things are lies.

You are all human potential. You can be, do and have anything you want, you just need to get the right beliefs inside your head and get rid of the negative.
